Dr. Stephanie Marquet

I have worked in palliative care and hospice for over 20 years. I started my career as a Kaiser Internist with a focus on in-patient care. Throughout my career I have been drawn to caring for the very sick, which often means those with a short prognosis regardless of treatment options, sometimes even only hours or days. As my interests evolved, I have focused on Palliative Care for the last 10 years, with expertise in delivering care outside the hospital setting. I have also served as Hospice Associate Medical Director for multiple Bay Area organizations, including Kaiser and Hospice East Bay.

I am now in private practice and able to see patients where they live.

My interests are in supporting patients and their families as they face serious illness. My goal is always to help patients understand their disease, expected health trajectory, and what treatment options are reasonable. In the course of these discussions we work together to match treatments to goals of care. For some people this looks like more treatment, for others it can mean palliative care or hospice or, if they qualify, medical aid in dying.

In 2023 I added Ketamine Assisted Therapy to my practice in service to patients seeking meaning-making and exploration of end of life concerns. I typically use oral Ketamine in client's home.
